An ultralight soprano ukulele crafted of select hardwoods. One-piece northern ash top/sides shell bottom-capped with a piece of uncommon bookmatched figured poplar. The maple neck with figured maple fretboard is outfitted with fifteen Ultra Sonic frets, exactingly shaped and dressed by hand to achieve our "fat, flat and low" fret profile. The cutaway provides access to the upper frets, and while the heel appears to conform to traditional spec, it's actually custom-carved to provide a smooth neck-to-heel transition (as well as to facilitate easy fingering of the fretboard that sits above the soundboard).
We offer various bridge options for our acoustic ukuleles. The Prototype TU-4 pictured above features our high-mass one-piece "incorporated bridge" tailpiece. Hand-carved of submerged oak, it's sturdy and negates the need for traditional bone and plastic saddles. That being said, we understand that uke players are an opinionated lot, and tradition is greatly respected by players and enthusiasts alike. Which is why we proudly offer the high-mass tailpiece with a bone (or plastic) saddle. Furthermore, we continue to offer bridges of traditional design as well.
